I am sure it makes them very uncomfortable, especially if they are worried that the sales clerks might recognize them... and then suddenly a crowd forms around them in the store... With cameras flashing away...

I am sure that most just get their assistants to get those things for them, but sometimes, they just don't have that option, and they have to do it themselves.
