Moll Flanders featuring Robin Wright Penn character was based or inspires (either one) on Daniel Defoe Moll Flanders. The plot has nothing to do with the real story.
If the story was base on the book I pretty sure they would have named it "The History and Misfortunes of Moll Flanders."
Besides this was a good movie I actually got into the movie.
I agree it was a good movie and a good story, but it should never have been called Moll Flanders. The only similarities between the book and this movie were that she was called Moll Flanders and she was born in a prison - that was it!
shareRobin was awesome in this movie. For me, she made the film just like she did in Forrest Gump.
shareI've never read the Daniel Defoe book. The movie was really good, all the actors did a great job. I loved it!
