One of the most predictable films I've ever seen.

"Jim Phelps" being a bad guy was obvious from the first time he was on-screen. The other plot points were kinda obvious too.

you´re an idiot

Please explain how you came to that conclusion.

I'd love to hear this one too.

That's because Jon Voight has been repeating the douchebag villain role several times since Mission: Impossible. But back in the day, Voight seemed a very believable match for a goody-two-shoes Phelps. And since Phelps was an established good guy character from the original series, of course the fact that he turned bad came as a shocking surprise (a negative surprise, to many fans). Moreover, Emilio Estevez (who was still a very recognizable star then) and Kristin Scott Thomas got killed off early in the movie, so it was believable that Voight's character was also a cameo and that he was killed off early too.

Although it's easy to say 20 years after the fact, I do remember saying to myself as a 13 year old "how come we can't see the guy chasing him (Voit)?" and then subsequently "how come we don't see who shot him?". Still a great movie.

Not even close but ok

Lol, you don't know what you're talking about.

It was like Captain Kirk suddenly was the villain and slaughtered his entire crew. No one saw it coming!

The Captain Kirk comparison's a good one! But having thought it through, this Jim Phelps played by Jon Voight is really nothing like the Jim Phelps played by Peter Graves. It's more like an alternative universe to the show's.
