Where was this filmed?

I can't seem to find out where this was filmed. Does anyone here know? The meadow was absolutely beautiful.

Although it's probably better that people don't know the exact location, this is the info that IMDB has available:

Filming Locations for
Microcosmos: Le peuple de l'herbe (1996)

Monts et Lacs du Lévézou, Aveyron, France
Salles-la-Source, Aveyron, France

Funny, I've always thought it was filmed in the Fontainebleau Forest, but on watching it again (10 years later) I realized I was wrong. I probably had it mixed up with the book "Les Fourmis" by Bernard Werber, which I had read at the same time. Probably because of the similar topic and all... :p

I'm also pretty sure some scenes were shot in a studio. Like the ladybug that falls from the leaf when a raindrop hits it. :)

But that's just my guess.

Actually almost everything was shot in a studio, except of course the landscapes, the pond and some of the bees.
The "making of" on the bluray shows them painstakingly arranging leaves and gras in front of the camera and placing the insects on them to get perfect shots.
It's kind of diminishing my enjoyment knowing that most of the insects were shot in a terrarium.

Thanks for the input... I was wondering about some of the shots that looked particularly staged.
I figured though from the sections on the ants that the had to have built their hive in a controlled environment to have the camera the way it was.
