Low User Rating
No one will ever compare this movie to "Citizen Kane" or "Gone With The Wind". However, I thought it was a well-meaning, enjoyable movie and deserves better than a 5.4 rating. I think it should gotten a 6.5 at least.

shareI agree,i would even go as far as a 7, I love this film
Yoohoo. I'll make you famous!
Exactly. One sweet movie.
shareIt just didn't meet my expectations.I didn't imagine Travolta's character to be so unangelically untypical.I was disappointed.
shareI wonder how this film slipped from under the noses of the various Christian Fundamentalist/"Parent" groups. Much more innocent films like "Peter Pan" have suffered because of them, yet a movie about a drinking, chain-smoking, sexually active archangel was perfectly fine (apparently)....
There are three kinds of people in the world: Those who can do maths, and those who can't.
The fact that he was an atypical angel is precisely what made the whole movie cool - it was the whole gimmick. Without that there would've been no movie.
shareI totally agree with you !!
shareYeh, I really enjoyed this one - 78/100. Good performances all around.
shareTerrific, funny, feel-good movie, with some very enjoyable musical moments. Up there with "My Cousin Vinnie" in my book as a reliably enjoyable couple of hours every few years...
BTW, The World's Largest Ball of Twine does/did exist, though they geo-slipped it from MN to IA, but the WLNSFP, alas, was just another one of those things invented by Michael.

shareLook at the top 100. Many of the voters have far different ideas about what makes a movie "good." This one has no special effects, explosions, car chases, comic book characters, vampires or zombies. I saw it today on AMC. I liked it as well as I had the first (and only) time I saw it 15 years ago. 85/100.
Remember Rabbit Ears with tin foil?
It's a stupid, boring film. 5.4 is a VERY generous rating.

Heck I give it a high 7. I love this movie - it's one of the few movies I can watch every few years and enjoy it just as much every time.
