Ringo Lam

To think that Maximum Risk was directed by one of the best action director's in Hong Kong during the eighties and nineties who gave us classics such as:

* Burning Paradise
* City On Fire
* Full Contact
* Prison On Fire
* Wild Search

What a quality drop-off...

Hovis!

it's quite a step-up for Van Damme, but it's no "Full Contact". Notice that Lam left the US, after this.

he came back and made replicant and in hell so it was not that bad

Prison on Fire was one great movie. City On Fire was excellent also. Great action flicks. Prison on Fire was great for Chow Yun Fat's excellent role and the prison scenes in general. A lot of nasties in that movie.

Don't forget VICTIM: I think that movie is as good as the ON FIRE films. SCHOOL ON FIRE is very good too.

And let's not forget City on Fire was the inspiration for Reservoir Dogs. Props to Ringo Lam for that.

I wish Ringo Lam got to direct more films in Hollywood. It's a shame that he got the shaft, yet hacks like Olivier Megaton keep getting work.
