Matilda's level of intelleignce is literally impossible

It doesn't matter how old or how smart you are, nobody can possibly work out large equations in their head in less than a second. There's too much you need to do. The best I'd accept is 10 seconds. And don't say she has powers, her only power is telekinesis.

Of course it is impossible. So is her telekinesis, the movie is a fantasy film.

But her telekinesis is supposed to be the only fantasy element. Her intelligence is supposed to be plausible, and it actually is mostly, it's just impossible for anyone to work out large equations in their head in less than a second.

I agree with you. When Matilda answers Miss Honey's math question I always felt she did it way too fast. Miss Honey is barely done asking the question when Matilda answers.

Certain kinds a autistic people can do such equations.

What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.

It's also impossible to have magical powers or for a Principal to get away with severe child abuse
