Disturbing?

Does anyone else find it totally disturbing that Mary's abusive father became Professor Dumbledore? Yikes. I think of this movie every time I watch the Harry Potter movies, unfortunately.

I recently re-watched Mary Reilly(GREAT MOVIE) for the first it in years and when I saw Sir Michael Gambon -I forgot he was in it- I was a bit creeped out. He's an amazing actor, but after seeing him in the Harryy Potter movies...its messed up! He tried to get it on w/ his daughter! Thats *beep* up!

he looks different in both and the characters are different. i was far more shocked seeing him in Sleepy Hollow

Well, that's why they call it acting. Name me one great character actor who doesn't have a disturbing role in his resume.

What's even more interesting is that while Richard Harris was a lovely Dumbledore, and is certainly missed, I absolutely LOVED Gambon's take on the character. He seemed to far better encapsulate for me that air of free-spiritedness Dumbledore had, that playfulness.

I thought this thread was going to be about Julia Robert's accent (or lack thereof).. as well as John Malcovich's...

But since I don't read or watch Harry Potter, to me the father looked quite eerily like an aged version of "Dim" (Alex's friend) in Clockwork Orange. I really thought that's who it was for awhile, but I now see Mcdowell was the only one to further any acting career out of all his "droogs" in the film.

Look at how happy you are, so carefree. It's almost as if you don't know you're Billy Bush!-Triumph
