same here! I mean..well...im a 21 female and I have been in looooove with John ever sense I saw Dangerous Liaisons. (almost similar character) so I have to say it wasnt Hyde who turned me on, it was just John. There is something so sexy about him to me! whether hes bald or has long hair (I prefure long), he turns me on! Mr.Hyde was a sadistic murderer and a deviant. But you could see Mary brought out the softer side of him and if I could have Mr.hyde all soft that would be hot! But remember what he did to that prostitute? And stomping that little girls guts in! I agree! I'm a moderate John fan, which basically means I can watch his movies and enjoy them but I hardly ever "fall madly in love with him." But this movie got me. He was just great! I was definatly turned on by him.

Gotta add my vote in on this too. YES! I was very surprised at how much I reacted to the film. I do think it has mostly to do with John M because I, too, have always loved his movies, his acting, his presence, and even little oddities or quirks,--for him, perfect. And yes, yes on the sexual tension. Amazingly so!

I know this is such an extremely ancient thread. I'm glad the mods didn't delete it. They do that a lot with the "older" threads.
But I had to return after watching it again. I admit that I was really surprised to see just how many women also felt so turned on by this movie and by various scenes. It was palpable! I watched it with my spouse and he really didn't get it. I mean he liked the movie, he's a JM fan in a big way too. I am not a Julia Roberts fan so I know it wasn't her presence. But man, JM just absolutely exuded sexuality, sexual tension, eroticism, power, seduction, and the ability, regardless of character played, to make a woman weak in the knees. It's absolutely his essence and it's undeniable.
For me, it was the scene where he could "smell her" and told her he could tell that she wanted him to stay around,...."unless [my] sense of smell deceives me." Man I thought I'd melt. Hubby didn't really pick up on that one right away but it seared through my body.
I have rarely seen such a powerfully erotic performance that was delivered almost as if it was second hand.

Personally I definitely prefered the many moments of soft romantic tension between Jekyll and Mary over the dangerous heat from Mr Hyde. As well as I prefered the doctor in general, but I know he wouldn´t be really Jekyll without Hyde ( or, maybe better, there wouldn´t be the whole story ).

I am glad that I am not alone on this one. I am very attracted to Jekyl in this movie, and I was to Hyde as well until he stomped on that girl...I was like "NOOOOOO..! Now I cannot like you anymore, for ethical reasons!" :)
This movie may be very flawed, but I love the direction, the cinematography, set design and most of all the atmosphere! This movie may not work for some people, but it definately works for me.
I thought me and my sister were the only ones, lol. When we first watched this we were on the edge of our seats wondering if they'd ever DO IT! This movie had so much sexual tension it's ridiculous.
