the Modern Jekyll and hyde cast

This forum has nothing to do with this movie (ive never seen it) but it was the only place i thought was appropriate for this forum. If Jekyll and hyde was remade completley i have the perfect cast

Dr. Jekyll: Colin Firth, or Hugh Grant,(the gentlemen Doctors) or Jaquin Pheonix( a much younger jekyll)

Mr. Hyde: Adrien Brody (the psycotich skinny type) Alan Rickman (the mysterious and dark type) Robbie Coltrane *non VnHlsng Gc* (rough irish and big)

Mr. Utterson: Dennis Hoffman

Poole: Michale Caine or Ian holm (poole should have a much bigger part)

Well thats all folks for now.

I personally don't think anyone could do Jekyll/Hyde better than Malkovich does in Mary Reilly. Hugh Grant would just sit there blinking and stuttering adorably the entire time, and Brody's too nerdy to play Hyde...it would be like the Simpsons' Professor Frink going on a murderous rampage; too ridiculous to be scary. Joaquin Phoenix could be okay in the role, but he doesn't have the kind of animal magnetism that Malkovich does. I suggest you watch Mary Reilly so you can see what I mean.

Colin Firth would have been a good choice... his acting in Girl with Pearlearring and Pride and Prejudice makes me very certain..

"By Grabthar's Hammer.......what a savings....."

I agree that Hugh Grant could never pull of such a part. I also agree that anyone compared to Malcovich in this film will in the end look a tad small. Even Colin Firth that does have a lot of talent doesn't have that evil lurking inside that Malkovich was able to pull off in Mary Reilly. So I say really, leave the film be and add it to your favorites list, because it's such an irresistable film, as the evil portrayed in it.

Oh god I wish Cilian Murphy could sing so he'd be cast in the musical movie of Jekyll and Hyde. He so has the look for jekyll and creepiness for Hyde.

reply

Um, Cillian Murphy does sing. He performed "Sand" for Breakfast on Pluto and some songs for Disco Pigs and plays in a Frank Zappa inspired band.

What about Rufus Sewell? He has quite a lot of dark in him I think, and he is very charming and sexually attractive at the same time. Wonderfull actor I think!
Oliver Reed or Gary Oldman might have done a good job as well.

Dr. Jekyll:Colin Firth
Hyde: Alan Rickman
Mr. Utterson: Never heard of Dennis Hoffman :^(
Poole Ian or Michael would be cool
I would love this for the Jekyll and Hyde differences!!!

Christoph Waltz would probably do a great Jekyll/Hyde roll.

Why two different actors to play Jekyll and Hyde? They are the same person (to be precise, Hyde is a small part of Jekyll, growing bigger as the story goes on), I think it's nice to see the same actor playing the good and the bad side of the guy.
So, my choices can be Jason Isaac (too old?), David Tennant (perfect) or Edward Norton. Jason Isaac played the bad and the good guy in Peter Pan and he was great.
I'm sure Ezra Miller would be fabolous, but he's too young, let's wait he gets a little older!
