Books vs Movie
I am just now reading the novel, which I like. But after reading the comments on this message board, I gather the film has little relation to the novel. How different is the movie from the book? Thank you.
shareI haven't read the book in years, so I'm afraid I can't answer that question (due for a reread!), but I still recommend giving the film a try. It is flawed, but the Gothic setting and tension still make for a pretty good movie. If I recall correctly, the movie really plays up the sexual tension between Mary and Hyde. I don't recall there being quite so many erotic exchanges between the two in the book (particularly toward the end).
