I Don't Care What Anyone Says, I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!

I am no film critic but I love this movie. I have watched this movie at least 10 times and I never get tired of it. The characters, the family experience, the score, The acting. It just all fits for me. Gwen Verdon was enchanting.

Are there any others that love this movie as much as I do?

I love this movie too! I'm a guy and I choke up every time Diane Keaton tells Meryl Streep she is going to live. Very subtle and incredibly powerful.

Diane Keaton should have won the Oscar for this... cant remember who else was nominated.

This is a small film yet so powerful. The relationship of the sisters is the key and both Keaton and Streep do not disappoint. I didn't cry. The end of the film IMO was very uplifting in a way and the message at the end of the film close to the end with what Diane Keaton;s character says to me is the key to the whole film. This is a film about characters and relationships. DeCaprio was great as was the young actor who played Charlie the youngest boy. Both held their own with Keaton and Streep. But the film belongs to the actresses.

I haven't seen this film in years but I watched it last night. What a cast! And although Meryl Streep and Diane Keaton were excellent, it was the young Leo Dicaprio that most impressed me. This film shows how early he developed such fine instincts and skills as an actor. In fact, I'd love for him to play a true ensemble piece like this again where he would stand back and not take the lead. Won't happen.

Robert DeNiro was practically a cypher in this film. But overall the cast was strong and the story was small but compelling...just the way I like 'em.

Faultess performances by everyone. I feel this because I identified with each of them and their points of view, how they got through their days and carried their hurt unaware or not of how little and small their world really came to. Knowing a bit of the writer's background makes it all the more heartbreaking.I'm so glad that these fine actors, De Niro included for his sweet portrayal, had a script that made full use of their subtleties and reminds us of their gifts to draw us in and understand such lives. Cried? Of course I did, way too much maybe. When Lee says she'll fix Ruth's hair, talking down to it trying not to make too much eye contact and has to get a brush....but can't possibly breakdown for long because her sister is waiting in the next room...well. Yes it is a pleasure to have someone to love, someone who matters to you. What else is this sensual life for?

Some people thought it was boring, but I nonetheless enjoyed watching it.
