Has anyone here read the novel or seen this film?

It was a best-seller in Italy and I know for a fact it was translated into several different languages (I believe in the US it was called "The Silent Duchess")... Did you think the film was a good adaptation of it? My opinions on this matter are expressed in my imdb review!
