I love the innocence of Dimity but, something doesn't quite add up..

Did Dimity know the outcome of Vicki-Annes relationship would be disastrous ahead of time when, at the beginning of the movie, she stopped on her pushbike and stared up at the top of the silos? Is Dimity secretly protecting her sister from the realities of unrequited love considering Vicki-Anne's ex-fiance somehow "fell on his chainsaw". Vicki-Anne and Dimity are definitely special people who both need watching for very different reasons. Or, am I reading too much into this?
