I just saw this movie on lifetime and I couldn't figure out if jennie garth knew that the guy was going to be shot. It kinda seemed like she knew, but I couldn't tell.

I totally agree. I saw bits and pieces of this movie a while back. I just watched like the last 1/2 hour of it now and I am so confused.
I thought Jennie Garth was married and physically abused by Rob Estes? Did I miss something? I don't remember from way back when.

yeah, that ending sucked!!
did she not hear the shot?
did she know what was going to happen?

I have to agree....the ending sucked.

I almost think that she stopped when she heard the shot, but then continued playing because she thought it was only Ivor shooting another animal, etc.
You'd think that if she knew it was Eric being shot, she'd be very upset.

Also, the novel this film is based on "On this Star" does not seem to be available, that I've seen so far. At least not that I can find.
Has anyone ever seen or read it??

ok so this is a little off topic but I just caught the very end of the movie and can't tell if this is supposed to be about a LDS family or not. Can anyone help?

Yes, it is about an LDS community in rural Utah in the early 20th century - 1920s or so.

I think she did know. It seemed to me like she heard the gunshot.
I mean if it were me, and he had just turned me down like that, I'd want him dead too.

I had the impression that she mentally snapped and lost touch with reality. Remember, just before their final parting Erik was telling her he could never be with her and she said she knew he'd come back and she walked away almost happy. Even the woman who announced Chel was there to see him (Erik's mom?) commented that Chel did not seem right.

Personally I think Ivor killed him for more than one reason - he wanted Chel for himself and he used Jens as an excuse.

Wow, I posted this thread SIX YEARS AGO! I barely remember this movie. Although I did set it to tape again when I spotted it on the listing. Was it on last night? I haven't looked at my DVR today. I'll have to watch it again when I get a chance. I don't remember who these characters are.

I'm gonna have a really hard time if we're both cannibals *and* we're racists.

No, no, it's cool! I just got the email, read the text and was like, "who on earth are these people?" I had to go look at what board it was on!

It should've taped then, I'll have to watch it tonight!

Do you know where I can find the movie on VHS or dvd? I seen the movie once on tv and I taped it but my VCR had mis-function and my tape was damaged. I'm still searching where I can find the movie. Thanks.
