what had horace done to become hated????

never figured that out. the summary said he was just kicked out whenthey married. WTF why??? makes no sense

this is like the second or turd foote film i have seen and i have yet to find anything remotely interesting in any of them. there seems to be no point to any of them, just an excuse to dress in period and walk around referencing items from the old days.

the dilemas or 'plots' have no direction or purpose whatsoever, far as i can see.

how did this foote fella become so 'established' ?

Hi LTUM! If you want to watch a period drama where something happens watch North & South.......

........then you can watch Pride & Prejudice with Colin Firth.

He didn't do anything to deserve being thrown out. His father died and his mother remarried. His stepfather didn't want him around since he was a reminder his wife had been married before. These were the days when the man ran the house and everything in it. The mother and the daughter had it better than they did when during the first marriage. His sister said she didn't even want to remember anything about her real father. Horace was trying to hang onto the memory of his father so he wouldn't be totally forgotten. Horace's sister was a shallow blockhead.

He was well rid of these stupid people. This movie is part of a trilogy. Horace goes back to where he lived before, marries and becomes a father. He would write to his mother who would ignore his letters claiming not to remember where his father was buried in an unmarked grave in the cemetery.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else
