I thought it was amusing (given her marital status at the time) that Nicole was presenting an award to a woman who had flowered after breaking free from the shadow of her successful, but domineering, husband.
Incidentally, director Duigan directed Kidman in one of her early hits FLIRTING. Guess she was just returning a favour...

Actually, Kidman wasn't presenting the award to "a woman who had flowered after breaking free from the shadow of her successful, but domineering, husband." She was presenting the award to Robin, the man who spirited her away. But I take your point.
