What I would have done to make this movie better

I saw the new fan edit by Lazarusyu and I have to admit I was quite impressed. It gave me some new ideas about how I would have done the movie:

1. Recast Matt Frewer with Jeff Fahey. I like Matt, but replacing Jeff Fahey was stupid, Jobe was always his role and the producers were stupid for re casting him.

2. Make Peter be on Jobe's side until the end, not realizing what Jobe has been doing until the final fight. I just did not like the fact that Jobe just betrayed Peter all of a sudden, especially after he helped Peter live at the end of the first movie. Another thing that I did not like was how Peter did not even remember Jobe when he popped up in the simulation. He should have recognized him instantly.

3. Either bring back Pierce Brosnan, recast the role, or keep Patrick Bergin. I liked Patrick, but some people like Pierce better.

4. Explain what happened to Peter better: having him live on the street, poor, and as a computer hacker made no sense. What happened with Angelo and his mother? What did his mother die of?

This is few of the things I would have done. But what would all of you done?

I KNOW. What the heck was up with Peter?

I think they should have concentrated on Jobe's story more than the kids playing around. There should have been a better build up as to what damage he could do. His part just seemed to be thrown in as a last thought.

This movie felt long.

I forgot about this thread! I was really into this series that summer...

I thought the idea of a group against Jobe was a good idea, however it was executed horribly. The group felt like a bunch of sterotypes with Peter thrown in acting like a random character with no backstory. If this movie was done well that idea could have been interesting but it failed.

Frewer's jokes were terrible. He makes two random ones out of nowhere that always make me go "WTF?" and roll my eyes. For some reason it was appropriate to talk about incest, why that fits in the movie, I have no clue.

I still think Bergin was a decent lead, but he should have been Angelo instead of the random guy. The girl was alight but added nothing.

Frewer plays the autistic horrible in this, which is one thing Fahey did really well, I always feel terrible for Jobe in the original.

The score in this was good though, one of the few +'s.
