Bruce's bowl of bar-food...wtf?

When he first meets William Sanderson's character in his saloon, they banter and have a drink for a few seconds, then Bruce is shown carrying and eating from a bowl of soup. Or Minnie's stew. Either/or, that's a big continuity error, and compounded more by the total lack of soup/stew intro.
