I only looked at a few. And all said it suffered by comparison with Dead Man Walking. Well, I had the luxury of seeing it without having seen DMW. So I don't know how it compares, and I thought it was done extremely well. And that's no surprise from the director of Breaker Morant, Tender Mercies and Driving Miss Daisy.
Also, I don't think I've ever seen this kind of premise before. It's always saving someone who is innocent. In this case, she's not innocent.
I give it an 8.
