We So Seldom Look On Love

For those that found Lynne Stopkewich's first feature film KISSED to be breathtaking and beautiful, i would highly recommend that you read not the screenplay but the short story that it was directly inspired from - "We So Seldom Look On Love" by Barbara Gowdy (ISBN 1-883642-00-0). Barbara Gowdy is an amazing writer usually choosing to write about the darker, morbid aspects to life. As soon as i had seen KISSED in 1996 i immediately set about searching for what inspired/motivated Lynne to direct such an intense emotional film which even after many watches later still moves me emotionally on so many levels.
Barbara Gowdy's "We So Seldom Look On Love" is one of the few book to movie translations that i have found to be respectful, honest, and nothing is lost in the translation which is why i exort fans of KISSED to read the short story that started it all.

If anyone here has done the above i would be honoured if you could contact me to let me know of your opinion/experiences in regards to both the beautiful film that was born of a taboo subject in many minds, and the amazing writer that started it all!

thanks, Skoota.
