Necrophilia is rape

Funny how so many mainstream and otherwise "respectable" critics like Ebert loved the movie, yet ignore the legal fact that necrophilia is considered by many scholars to be legally (at least in civilized jurisdictions - there are still many jurisdictions in the US where one can legally get away with raping corpses if they have a good lawyer due to loopholes) a sex crime and considered to be a form of rape, but against a corpse rather than a living person. Bunch of repentless degenerates.

Its also, well, NECROPHILIA, which basically means, a perversion that includes a sexual activity with the dead. Call it either word or consider them both, but yes it is also a DISTURBING and a TABOO-oriented subject and of course I consider people who engage in it to be making the wrong choices and it is highly unpleasant too.

See also films like Joe D'Amato's "Beyond the Darkness" (1979), "Nekromantik" (1987) by Jorg Buttgereit, various other films like "Nightwatch" (1994) and its 1997 Hollywood remake of the same name by same director, "Aftermath" (1994) short film, even the recent Hollywood 2016 film from Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn "Neon Demon" and others.
