the scene in the motel when Ishmel realized he had gotten a small tattoo on the left side of his chest the night before, he already had it the scene before that when he was dancing at the strip club... was this a goof or did i miss something???

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm wondering if Randy Quaid already had that tattoo and that was their way of incorporating it into the movie.
