worst movie ever

without a doubt, the worst film I have ever had the displeasure of seeing in my whole life. I walked out on it. And I rented it! I actually walked out of my home! It was horrible. And I liked the show too.

Worst movie ever? Not by a long shot, just the Kids in the Hall being in it makes it worth owning. Those who love them will be happy with this movie. It's not as hilarious as some of their greatest skits but it's still worthwhile.

There are many movies out there that are simply unwatchable, without any redeeming features whatsoever. This isn't in that league.

Edited to say: The above was based on my memory of seeing it when it came out. I watched it again just now after ten years...and it IS just as hilarious as their greatest skits, plus it has a moral and is extremely moving. This movie is a masterpiece of comedy, it was being sold for $5 at the video store and I snapped it up. I cannot find the dvd. The video stores won't even carry the Kids in the Hall boxed set dvds because there is no demand. Unbelievable.

It is true though that you HAVE to know the series, to really "get" this movie. But getting to know the series is no hardship...I envy anyone who is just going to discover it...some video stores do have season one at least, and the comedy channel is showing it. Their comedy was 15 years ahead of its time; they were using things that South Park, and the other graphic shows, are just using now.

I agree whole heartedly with you about how good the movie is, but I'd only vaguely heard of Kids in the Hall and had maybe seen half of one episode of the sketch show before(with Scott Thompson as a woman saying he dislikes American politics) but when my friend taped Brain Candy off TV years ago, we watched it every day because it was so bloody hilarious. Sure, Cancer Boy is pushing the envelope just a tad, but the film's still hysterical. So I don't think a pre-knowledge of the comedy troup is necessary to enjoy the film, just a special brand of humour sense. "One of them tried to KISS me. But I said no! No no no no - NO! But he just kept kissing me..."

this movie is obscenely funny. i watch it over and over and it never gets old. i feel like almost every second of this film is hilarious. I used to watch kith all the time and was not at all disappointed with this film.
