I'm from england and Kids In The Hall aint well known here. The movie Brain Candy gets shown quite often though on BBC2, most fans seem to dislike the movie. I thought the movie was great and unlike most comedy's out there.
Is the movie really that crap compared to the tv show and is it worth getting the season box sets?
You can compare Brain Candy to the TV series like you would compare Bean The Movie to the series. The film failed to bring back the magic of the series, and didn't utilize any of the classic characters such as "Head Crusher", "Cabbage Head", "Gavin" or other classic creations. Just as Bean recycled old jokes and failed to keep true to the character, Brain Candy wasn't what fans had hoped for. By all means, get the series box sets. You won't be disappointed!!
sharesurely one of the good things about "brain candy" is that it didn't rehash old characters.. one of the greatest things about kids in the hall is, as a sketch show they didn't repeat characters too much.. they only kept a few popular ones because they had to keep the stupid people happy.. - "oh look its that funny one again, for the 100th time, i can do that in the streets and people will think i'm funny" luckily kids in the hall never pandered to that kind of audience.. this is why they are often compared to monty python.

im a huge KITH fan and i really enjoyed brain candy.
if you havent watched it in its entirety, you really should.
and as far as other fans disliking the movie ---
unfortunately sketch comedy doesnt translate to film very well, so the formula is different than the TV show, but its still really funny and pokes fun at everyone claiming to be "all depressed all the time" and need drugs to make everything better.
i know if you buy multiple items at amazon you get a discount and free shipping. ebay's deals are not as good.
