I liked it!

OK. It wasn't great art but I thought it was well-made, well-acted and, well, I guess I found it entertaining. Did't anyone else?

I liked it too. The time I watched it 'cos nobody else had written an amazon.co.uk review of it was the 3rd time I'd seen it, and I was surprised how much I liked it once I had worked out what was going on!

I love it for what it is: A straight to video, piece of wild, crazy fun!
I rented it on video when it came out cause I'm a huge Spader and Stoltz fan. Eight years later I find it at Walmart in the bargain DVD bin for $2.50!!!
That's gold!

I'm more of a Spader fan, but I once ventured to the Stoltz board to post info about where to find "Greasy Lake". I was amused to find a thread saying, "Does he always play sick, evil perverts?" So, both of them must get the same question????????????????

I liked it as well. These small to middle sized Southern cities (maybe Northern ones as well) have their strata of semi-slimy, neo-riches. These two-generation "Dynasties" that exist primarily in their own minds and those of their entourage and dependants.

This film did a better than average job of shining a light on this crowd....one that I grew up viewing at close range.

"The Ice Harvest" with John Cusack does a good job of showing the less impressiive side to the socially "important" people in another town.

Another strata (I've seen in the South) is a not slimy at all but just harmlessly eccentric. Hopefully this is my crowd....

Gave it 45 minutes. I was bored out of my skull.

It all comes together in the end. The bad guy gets blown away just as he was about to do some murdering, and the main character shows a flair for planning as he concocts a story that will keep everybody in the clear. Not much payoff, to be sure, but not a total waste of 90 minutes

For a fun ride, watch "Confidence"!

I don't actually recall much about it, to be honest. I remember that many of the people are a bit ****ed in the head. Good to see James Spader, though.

I only bought it as part of the Peter Strauss collection (he has a small role in a couple of scenes, as a tennis player I think).

One of those semi-artistic films that borders on mostly real life with just a touch of dramatisation. I recall feeling a little dirty and depressed after watching it...

I liked the cast. The story was a little boring. It wasn't a bad independent film. It was interesting seeing James Spader looking like Elvis. I kept thinking about the baby. I hope someone was looking after it all the times the parents went out drinking.
have a great day
