Not That Bad

82 bottom of all time?..don't make me hurt you. It is worth watching. There is no getting over how the kid gets whatever he wants. Definitely worth renting.

I watched it when I was a kid, and I liked this movie. Probably I might doze off now, but thats a difference between kids and adults movies. That doesn't mean it can be pushed down to bottom 100. that sounds lame to me.

it kicks a$$.

The kid is completely unlikeable. He seems to outright hate this genie until the end, when he suddenly loves the guy. The genie too has a line of dialog along the lines of, "I've had many masters over the past 5000 years, but you're my first friend". This kid treated him like pure shat the entire film, yet they're friends?

It's FULL of nonsensical holes like that.

I still don't understand how the genie brought the kid back to life. He wasn't supposed to have control over things like that.

The entire plot is completely absurd and nonsensical. This gene pops up out of a boombox, turns a bike into a magical, flying pimp-mobile, but STILL the kid doubts him. It's not till the candy falls(or perhaps even after), that the kid FINALLY says, in a state of pure amazement, "you ARE a genie!". This kid is possibly the dumbest character in movie history. I could go on and on and on about that.

Why does Shaq use a Jamaican accent when he raps? I still don't know if he's meant to be a Jamaican genie or not.

The genies wishes are underwhelming as well. The kid asks for junk food to the sky, the genie gives him a big pile, but it clearly doesn't stretch to the sky. And since when are pancakes and fast food junk food? Bizarre. There is also a scene early on, when the kid wishes he was as big as the genie, but not as stupid. Guess what the genie does upon hearing this, NOTHING. Clearly a wish was made, yet the genie doesn't fullfill it. I guess he can pick and choose which wishes he chooses to fulfill. It makes no sense. And the final wish, for his dad to have a second chance. How exactly was that fulfilled? The dad simply goes up to the mom and asks if he can play a part in his sons life. He could have done that at any time, ALL on his own. Why was a genie needed, why was a wish needed? And again, the genie wasn't supposed to be able to have control over things like that.

Bah, this rant could go on forever. The fact is, Kazaam IS that bad. Everything about it is pure garbage. It is still incredibly entertaining, from a Mystery Science Theater 3000 standpoint, but the film deserves all the criticism and low ratings it gets.
