IMDB blew it by listing Alec B as the TEACHER!
WE do NOT find out until the end of the film that Alec's character is "The teacher!"

I knew it instantly... it really wasn't a mystery.
shareBut in the car when Alec takes Demi on that "thrill ride" and nearly hits her son he tells her to repeat over and over "Who will protect you?" And she says "You!The Teacher!" This was about 20 minutes in. I'm not sure what bearance this has on the plot, and your post was from a few years back so it may not make much difference anymore. Imdb Does have a habit of revealing plots in this way. Though I'd say it is more on behalf of the movie if their identities are tied in with a reveal in the movie. If there is no other name given to them in the movie than that identity, it is kind of hard to Not reveal it. Anyway be well.

The scene in the car is way later than 20 minutes in...go back and check.
However there is an earlier scene between Annie and Cordell (in her house I think) where she tells him, she believes him to be the Teacher. It does become apparent pretty early in the film and really isn't much of a mystery, though arguably shouldn't have been spoilt in the casting list.
