Characters of Jerry Maguire: where are they now?

Rod Tidwell - Played well the season after signing his free agent contract (72 catches, 980 yards, 6 TD), but suffered a series of leg and hamstring injuries the following year and was released by the Cardinals in a salary cap move, voiding the final two years of the deal. Played for five more seasons in a limited role with the Bears, Patriots and Eagles before retiring in 2004. His 11-year career totals: 580 catches, 7,365 yards, 41 TD, $7.8 million earnings. Tidwell is now an account manager at a Phoenix area pest control company and a popular motivational speaker at local high schools. He and Marcee divorced in 2007.

Marcee Tidwell - regional sales manager for a national beer distributor based in Phoenix. Her daughter majors in business at ASU. Was a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show featuring successful black women in 2011.

Dorothy - divorced Jerry in 2000 after discovery of an extramarital affair with a flight attendant. Employed by a Big 5 accounting firm since 2001. Her home was broken into multiple times by a stalker convinced she was the Joey Lauren Adams character from the film "Chasing Amy". The stalker received a prison sentence after a five-hour hostage standoff with police in 2004, but was recently paroled. Dorothy was unharmed and now lives with her second husband, Phil, at an undisclosed location on the West Coast.

Jerry - rehired by SMI after the departure of Bob Sugar in 2002, made partner in 2010. His active client list currently includes Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, Ray Rice and Johnny Manziel. His and Dorothy’s daughter (b. 1999) is currently enrolled in the sports management graduate program at Hofstra.

Frank Cushman - Retired from the NFL in 2010 after a 14-yr All-Pro career with Denver and Dallas. Left SMI for agent Leigh Steinberg in 2001, precipitating a series of SMI client losses that culminated in a complete overhaul of SMI upper management, including the firing of Bob Sugar. Returned to SMI in 2005. Jerry Maguire did not handle his account. Currently color man for the #1 pro football announcing team on CBS.

Matt Cushman - kicked to death by a donkey on his ranch in 2005. He was 64.

Bob Sugar - fired from SMI in 2001 after the loss of the Cushman account and several other high profile defections. Formed his own agency in Miami, specializing in football and basketball players from Florida schools. Hasn't represented a 1st round pick since Rex Grossman in 2003 and received an 18-month NCAA ban in 2007 after paying strip club tabs for multiple Florida State players. Pals with Vanilla Ice and can occasionally be seen as a construction extra on the HGTV show "Vanilla Ice Project".

Tyson Tidwell - High school football star, attended University of Arizona on scholarship as a cornerback, but entered the NFL draft early after being suspended over a sexual assault charge filed by a 22-yr old woman following a campus party. The charges were dropped and Tidwell was drafted in the fifth round by the Ravens in 2011. His best year was 2014 with four interceptions, one returned for a TD. Baltimore released him in 2015 after a highly publicized domestic battery incident where he dragged his girlfriend by her hair through a casino parking garage. He is signed with Dallas for the coming season. Jerry Maguire is his agent.

WOW this was thorough, just had to comment. I have this feeling things did not end well for Jerry; he was very manic and high strung and headed towards some kind of nervous breakdown/collapse/axe murder.

And why does Ray suddenly become a homosexual? Lol.

I really dislike this movie, mostly because it promised so much and delivered so little. Just my sly way of poking fun at characters that, when you really look at them, are as contemptible and superficial as the film itself. The post wrote itself, I just added punctuation.

The detail that Dorothy's stalker mistakes her for Joey Lauren Adam's is hilarious.
