Did anyone else think the relationship between the protaginist (the clarinet player) and the teacher was inappropriate considering she was only 18 and he was at least 30 years old?

Mmmm... I didn't get the feeling that Tom was 'at least 30', I had him placed in his mid- to late-20s. And Lara was sort of old beyond her years, so I didn't feel it was that odd, no.
