Held-back emotions?

BBC are showing a new adaption at the moment, a week ago, I saw the 1997 TV version (with Samantha Morton & Ciaran Hinds)... I also remember having seen an old b&w version, and a much more recent one, which I'm wondering if this is the right one. I'm absolutely sure it did NOT have Timothy Dalton in it, see. ;)

Anyone who knows their "Jane Eyre" movies/series, is it this adaption that would match my description?

The only thing I really remember from it is how I felt watching it. I wanted to throw something at the TV screen because the actors were exceedingly good at playing totally emotionless. Well, just the fact that they seemed to be so full of emotions they wanted to let out, but couldn't or wouldn't. Just extremely held-back. Made me want to scream.

It wasn't the 1997 version, as I didn't recall having seen Samantha Morton as Jane Eyre, and besides, neither Jane nor Rochester were exactly held-back when it came to letting emotions show! So I reckon it was this one, but without any pictures to jog my memory, difficult to know if I'm right. Although it should be, because it seemed fairly recent, rather than from the 80s or 70s.

On a side note, I'm quite enjoying the new BBC version, and have just ordered the book off Play.com as I've yet to actually read it, but the story is very compelling. :)
