So, about the trivia about Andy Partridge...

Andy Partridge of the British pop group XTC was originally tapped to write the songs for this film. When Partridge backed out over the compensation he was offered, the producers called on 'Randy Newman' instead. Partridge eventually released demo versions of the four songs he composed for the film.

Anyone know where I could find those songs?

In the Fuzzy Warbles box or individual releases under Andy's name. The songs were terrific, beautiful and would have fit the movie perfectly. Disney is run by idiots.

You can buy the CDs off Amazon or get the songs off itunes. The songs are contained on Fuzzy Warbles #1,2,4,& 6. Hope that helps.

They almost sound like lost songs from the Beatles "Yellow Submarine". Why oh why didn't the deal go through with Disney? They would have made the movie sublime. I love mostly everything about, "James & The Giant Peach" except for the songs! The songs are so ordinary and banal not magical or enchanting at all.

I had never heard that piece of info before. God bless the internet.
Andy Partridge's songs would have been fantastic for James and the Giant Peach. So much more evocative than anything Randy Newman could concoct. XTC was one of my all time favorite bands. They never really received the allocates that they deserved.
