Was this ever made in wide-screen or only Letter-box Version?

I own the Letter-box version, if this movie was made in widescreen I'm gonna be mad that I own the letter-box version. I think this movie was only made in letter-box version. I see that on youtube someone uploaded this movie in widescreen but I think they cropped the image cutting out screen parts of the movie to make it fit. I do not believe this movie had a wide-screen version.

I found a solution to this. I have removed the black bars but I believe the solution to this is too complicating for the average intelligence level especially for Americans, no pun intended.
