jack frost 1996 is an awesome horror film. the acting was decent, the effects were cool an not over the top, and it has a great balance of horror and comedy as well. followed by the just as excellent sequel, jack frost 2 revenge of the mutant killer snowman

I agree. It is very underrated. It is one of the better Christmas movies I have seen. It definitely helped in getting me in the holiday spirit.

shareI once tried renting this and got the Michael Keaton one instead. I was recently reminded of the horror movie, so now I'm going to try to find a proper copy of it.
shareI watched this a few hours ago, hadn't seen it in over 10 years. I've outgrown it. It was fun when I was 12 back in 2000, but it wasn't as fun this time around. Not to rain on this thread's parade.

I Love this movie. It was hilarious, it was cheesy, bad acting, over the top. it was great.
They don't make movies like this anynmore. Now everyone is too self aware and people will act horrible on purpose. Bad movies now are made on purpose which sucks out all the fun of watching movies like this one.
It is truly a horror comedy gem. It is great .

What I loved about this flick is that despite the totally ridiculous premise, the cast still plays it totally 'straight' as if they're in a "real" horror film.
In the second movie the performers played up the campy aspect of it and that made it a little less fun.
