No, I think they have always had that seen in the movie, but you knwo there are companies (tv) that edits their films, to make them shorter, no matter how long they are, from room for commericals, so I bet this scene was taking out on tv, and you might have been surpised to see it on a channel like HBO, Showtime, and STARZ that show movies in their entiredy commerical free.
