Better than "Big"?

I thought so after watching. Better cast and Robin is much more convincing playing the role of a grown-up kid.

reply

Robin was perfect for this role. He always seemed to have an 'overgrown kid' way about him.

reply

Both are terrific but I chose Jack over Big. In terms of playing a child, no adult has ever done better than Robin William.

No

And remember Robin Williams proven In the beginning of Mrs. Doubtfire that he was good at playing a kid type role as you remember how immature he was at the party and dancing on a table with Chris and another girl.

reply

What a tough question.
I loved both movies and the tears stream (im one of those strongminded guys in his mid 40s)when i look back on these films.
1.BIG (the music score by Howard Shore is one of my favourite film music)
2.JACK (i loved the 90s films and JACK was wonderful..everyone in the cinema was crying at the end!)

reply

As much as I love Williams, there is no comparison. "Big" is the better movie.

reply

No. Jack was the better movie.

reply

Definitely not. Big had a better fleshed out and executed concept with better tonal balance, Jack you're pretty unsure of if its supposed to be a drama or a comedy and because of this its so disjointed as a whole.

reply

In terms of which is the better movie, I'd say it's arguably a toss up. I'd motion to hear both sides. But in terms of the performance of mimicking a child? Robin Williams wins by MILES

I think this movie was a lot better than Big, but I don't really think that's saying much. This movie tried to go straight for the jugular and force you to cry.

Even though I think that this film shouldn't have been made into a comedy, and that there were a few stupid scenes, particularly the scene with Fran Dresser and Jack mascarading as "principal Powell", there were a couple good moments and the scene at the end, the graduation being kind of a tearjerker.
