Is it just me...

Or does it seem like Alex rushed to hook up with Grace? Don't get me wrong, I like the character of Alex because she's independent and thinks for herself, not letting her family or husband tell her how to live her life. I just thought it was weird how she could rent all those movies about lesbians and after watching them all, decided that she was one. There was no sign of attraction to Grace before Grace had come out to her so the whole "Kiss me, i'm a lesbian now" thing was a little abrupt. Just my opinion though.

I also wish we could see a little more of Alex and Grace's relationship developed. I know they went to highschool together but they didn't get a lot of time on screen together and that's what I was watching this movie for.

Well that's all. Comments are appreciated and welcome. :)

The attraction between them was obvious since the first sceen Alex and Grace meet in the hope house.
And if not for anything else by the end when they are together in a hotel room, Grace starts : "I've been deaming about this..."
Alex: "...since 8th grade."

Agreed. I'm watching this movie again right now. It's kind of addicting, lol. But yeah, it's apparent when the two of them meet up again that there has been a long attraction going on. You can tell on Grace's part at least because when she sees Alex for the first time in awhile she can't take her eyes off Alex. You can see this when she hugs Spencer, she still can't take her eyes off Alex. With Grace, she probably had realized the sexual feelings for what they were. Alex, however, was probably too busy living the life that she thought that she should be living. She's had deep feelings for Grace but didn't recognize them as a romantic crush. When Grace told her that she was a lesbian, it most likely sparked something in Alex. That's why Alex rented all those movies, she wanted to explore her own feelings more. She wanted to see what lesbian relationships looked like. The realization that she had romantic feelings toward Grace was probably pretty sudden...but those feelings had definitely been around for years.

That's my take on it.

or maybe it's just me... that I picked up on that little "something-something" between the two of them when Alex saw Grace at the Hope House. Honestly I thought it was pretty funny how "close" Alex seemed to get with her old friend Grace and how unaware she seemd to be about it (at least to me :-), and how obvious it seemed to Grace and Spencer. I guess some folks just have better gaydar than others

Considering the time constraints in the movie I'll forgive them (writer/producer/editor) for how rushed the budding relationship seemed to be as well as other "oddities" (like the all black choir, which totally rocked but seemed out of place by their sudden appearence from no where...).
