Hidden Gem....

Does any one else think this movie is a hidden gem? I came across it for the first time browsing through movie titles on Netflix.com and decided to rent it. I loved it! I thought it was lighthearted, yet poignant and I was surprised I had not heard of it before....what did everyone else think?

I litterally JUST saw it for the first time (being already sure that there will be a second time I'm gonna be watching it), and I think it's one of the most hidden gems there are. I read a lot of negative critics about the movie, while it's a wonderfull piece of 'art', so to speak. Movies like this aren't made that often, and that's a shame.

To dream about something and keep dreaming of it is a lot different from realizing the dream.

I saw it many times. It's great, light and funny.

It's one of the best gay/lesbian movies ever.

Agreed. Add touching, romantic, and sly.

I, too, found this early this morning while browsing what I could instantly watch on Netflix. This was a GREAT movie! It seems like many board posters don't understand satire...which is a shame. It was a touching & lighthearted flick, which still covered some deeper issues (coming out after marriage, coming out to your parents, coming out in a small closed-minded community, etc). I loved the story between the two girls. I mean come on...what lesbian didn't have a crush on her best friend back in the day?

I was surprised I hadn't heard of it either. Friends of ours who subscribe to Netflicks told us about it. I enjoyed it a lot and it probably ranks up there with Incredible Adventures of Two Girls in the Comedy/Romance genre.

I agree with all that is said.

I just found this movie and loved it. I am about to watch it for the second time.

A good comedy but with a message as well.

I have to thoroughly agree. I've seen almost every lesbian associated movie (in most languages) since the time I came out (8 years ago) to now and today is the first time I've seen It's In The Water, and I'm honestly shocked that it's taken me so long to come upon it. It's a great movie. It's funny, and campy but tackles serious issues too. Amazing.
