Does your DVD copy have a Director's Commentary track?

I bought my copy after reading that there was a director's commentary track, which I would find very very interesting after having watched "Lost Soul" (the documentary about the making of this film."

My copy arrived, and while there are a couple of bonus features (On-screen interviews), there was no commentary, kinda the main reason I bought it. I did read that the blu-ray omitted this feature, that's why I stuck to the DVD.

Does your copy?

Not even in the Audio menu?

Man, I'm going to see Lost Soul today and it would be a hoot to hear Frankenheimer's commentary.
The fact that he even recorded one deeply astounds me.

I just saw "Lost Soul" today on Amazon. I would be really surprised if their was a director's commentary. I mean, what would he say, the movie was a mess. I could just imagine, "ahh yes I remember, this is the part where some of the animals were still hung over or on their acid trip. Yes now this is when Marlon suggested wearing an ice bucket on his head." Hah

Can anyone confirm the Frankenheimer commentary track being on the DVD version???

reply

There has never been a commentary track for this film, by anyone.
Writer and original director Richard Stanley did do a live commentary once at a film festival (I think in South Africa) and it was recorded by the organiser, but has not to my knowledge ever been released.

I think the SF film fest was Celludroid.

Do it Doug!!!!

No, mine doesn't.

Having said that, I do hate false or misleading advertising.

I had one that had audio commentary! I don't have it anymore though as I didn't keep my copy.
