The End
I loved the ending of this here movie. It was perfect. Although how can an alien who cannot withstand an M-16 withstand an atomic bomb? This movie was perfect.

The alien itself didn't survive the nuke, its egg did. But I found even that a bit far-fetched. Nuclear blasts freaking vaporize anything that is in close enough proximity to the epicenter! But that point is moot, as another alien-appropriated lander was entering the atmosphere at the end of the story.
That said, my main problem with this movie is that it's dramatically unsatisfying if not downright depressing when all the main characters save one end up perishing in a fiery blast, only to have the invading species survive nonetheless.
