Just watched this film today on Sky, thought it was amazing, the best made-for-tv film I have EVER seen, and everyone who acted in it should be congratulated. I was wondering if they ever solved the murder, coz I thought they were close when they noticed the initials TEJR in the postcards. Any help would be great!

No they didn't , that guy your talking about, "The walker" looks like Hennis but that is all he did, walk...The one they think may have done this horrible thing is the neighbor that did live up the street.
shareI lived in Fayetteville, NC at the time of the this horrid event, so tragic. I very closly followed this story.
I feel for Mrs. Eastburn's husband, Gary, and their daughter, Jana, who is now a young adult. The daughter was too young to remember her mother and two older sisters. How devastating it must be for her and her father to know of how their lives ended too soon.
I don't think this horrible crime has been solved, so unfortunate.
Incredibly this case has been re-opened within the past 30 days. What's mindboggling to me is that police in Feyetteville claim that they have definitive DNA evidence to who the murderer is. Once again they are claiming to have implicated Hennis again as they claim DNA found at the seen has been retested and was to have matched Hennis. Now I've seen the movie twice, the second time this morning overnight on Lifetime Movie Net. The jury in the 1st case had to be as dumb as a rock. I would have a hard time believing anything the authorities would have to see against Hennis based on the history of the case. Pres Bush looks like a honest guy based on the the prosecuters pulled in this case so far.
shareI saw that the prosecutors had turned it over to the military since the state can't charge him again. I took watched it yesterday morning for the second time and then decided to research Hennis and found all of this out. I am definately going to keep up on this one.

shareSo you only have to prove that two people had sex to convict for homicide? What if she was lonely and turned to a neighbor and had an affair? His track record had been stellar. Of course, he could've purposely walked a straight line thereafter knowing he's gotten away with murder. But had they found he DNA under her fingernails or his blood it would be a lot better than just proving the two had sex.

But anyway, yeah... To prove murder you have to prove more than sex, or even rape for that matter. No blood or skin or anything else? And they said there was other DNA there that was not his. You don't convict of murder lightly.

shareWell, see, Hennis messed up. During the first two trials, where he was on trial for his life, no less, he claimed to have never had sex with her. Now all of a sudden when DNA proves that was his sperm, he claims he did? What, did it slip his mind? Oops! LOL
