Didn't the aliens realize that the ship we used to get into the mother ship was a model that was 50 years old? And what are the odds the aliens would be using the same type computers and software as us?
shareI don't think there would necessarily be any changes in the space ships over 50 years, or indeed much longer time spans - once you've achieved a dominant technology why should there be. But the virus attack didn't make much sense - unless it was developed and tested on the downed spaceship - perhaps (I'm probably overthinking here) he had an alien emulator running on his lap top?
