Evacuated cities sooner

Anyone wonder how many lives were lost if David's ex-wife in the White House had listened to him instead of stupidly hanging up on him? Throughout the rest of the movie her conscience never bothers her. Even when the President mentions about evacuating the cities sooner.

Not sure.. you see all those blocked highways and stuff I doubt people would've gotten very far (away) from the cities.
Suburbs is where you stay alive heh

Evacuating a city surrounded by suburbs us basically impossible, it would take DAYS to empty out a place like the LA Basin, and calling the evacuation a couple of hours earlier wouldn't make a huge difference in the number of lives saved.

During the last couple of years there have been evacuations in California near me, due to floods and wildfires. Even evacuating a small town like Oroville took hours and hours of stopped traffic, imagine trying to get everyone out of San Francisco! The only ways out of the place are two two Bridges to the north and east, and the roads leading south lead to fifty miles if crowded suburbs that would also be evacuating. It's take days, and the alien fleet only allowed a few hours.

In a movie where a dog can outrun an explosion inside a tunnel, much is possible.

Hahah that's also true

I wouldn't judge her too harshly. She was likely used to David's off the wall theories about many things, including her leaving him to have an affair with the (happily married) president.

His phone call probably sounded just like the others he made to her over the years.

BUT, just because someone is paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!!!! In this case, we see David was right.
