Who [or what] ever cast Kevin Tighe as Mr. Clutter should be sent to a loony bin. Blond, shifty-eyed, and oozing perverted menace, he is the physical antithesis of Herb Clutter, a handsome and good-natured fellow, albeit a bit of a square. If the real Mr. Clutter had looked like Tighe, Dick and Perry would have taken one look at him and run out of the house screaming. And poor Nancy Clutter might have gotten to celebrate her 70th birthday this year. Come to think of it, I wish Mr. Clutter had looked like Kevin Tighe.

I liked John McLiam's Mr. Clutter the best! He was also the sympathetic Boss Keen in Cool Hand Luke that is sorry he has to put him in the box. He played that man very well, a very decent fellow, but not very interesting. And yes, it is creepy to me when a man has absolutely no vices of any kind. Mr. Clutter never used tobacco, alcohol, or even caffeine in his life. He started the day with a glass of milk! No man that worked for him was ever allowed to use alcohol in his life and even if he did use it and he found out, even though it didn't affect his hired men doing their job, they were fired on the spot!
