Things that always bothered me

I actually like this movie a great deal, despite its imperfections, but there are a few things that have always bothered me:

1) Bwick's pots of paint aren't big enough for his freakin' feet (yet somehow render two perfectly-shaped footprints on the wall).

2) The stupid hat Elle MacPherson wears. Eric Shaeffer's is bad enough, but Elle's...DAMN. And, to make it worse, they swap hats on the movie poster! What's up with that!

3) And finally, that even in 1996, no one was stupid enough to think you could get AIDS from masturbation. I mean, damn. We'd all have AIDS.

P.S. I've had the VHS version for years, unwilling to update to DVD since there weren't any special features to make it worthwhile, but I finally did it, and now that I've seen it in widescreen, I finally know what Joe paints on the wall right before he storms out of the apartment! Hurrah!

I agree with all of your points.

What does he write on the wall before he storms out?

reply

He writes "JOE'S GONE" (and underlines it) in the box for the 27th on the calendar (the day before "DEATH PACT DAY").

Schaeffer is an untalented writer, actor and director - this movie is a mesh of all rom-com cliches and if you want to see an even worse film, rent FALL - his ego-filled lovefest about his favorite subject: himself - where women just cant enough of his epic love-making (we know this because it is discussed endlessly). This film has a cult following because it is SO BAD it is funny.

yep. 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. The endless cliches. The odd casting. Ben Stiller's typically nonsensical performance (did he think this was Zoolander?). ugggg SO BAD it's just bad. It gave me a headache.

I like Elle's monster panties when she calls Eric for their first date. My grandma would be impressed.

I know that this post is over 8 years old. SJP's hairstyle bothered me, as well as the way she would wear her sweater on the outside of her coat. Like who does that? It is a far cry from Carrie Bradshaw's style.
