An Aussie Movie for an Aussie audience

Nick Dets, are you from Australia? I don't think so...you need to know what the western suburbs of Sydney are like to get this movie. The boredom, the grog (that's beer, mate, we don't call it brew), the sex and the unemployment depicted in Idiot Box were all too familiar.
I think Dave Caesar did a good job with this flick - it is a slice of reality from the Rooty Hill RSL.

Cheers

I agree fantastic film, fantastic plot, realistic and funny. I thought Ben Mendelsohn was absolutely awesome in this film, totally underrated!!

Yes I like it too.

The bit where he shoots the dog always gets me though. Ha.

This is my people shooting hat. I shoot people in this hat.

I saw this movie years back...I'm not an Aussie, and I thought it was a real stinker. A friend of mine had got the video out from a rental store, and was embarrassed he'd got such a load of rubbish. Can't be more specific as it was years ago, but I do remember thinking this was one of the worst movies I've seen. Dull, tawdry, uninteresting.

I'm not Australian and I like this movie quite a bit! I have the DVD And I understood it! Then again I have a "fetish" for British, Australian, New Zealand and other foriegn movies and have been watching and buying them for years.

I watched this about seven years ago and it must have had some effect on me as I can still remember the title and the plot which brought me to this page. I would like to see it again but think I might have to torrent?

I tend to like Aussie films though (I'm British)
