best 'artsy' movies ?


i get really into movies about artists. except i dont know that many, EX: Slam (1998), Playing for Change (street musicians documentary), and there was this one other one i cant remember who its of- a black painter during early 80's... anyway if anyone has any recomendations please post

The movie about the black painter is Basquiat. A good movie with a great soundtrack.

factory girl isn't even released yet. that's a big assumption for a film that looks like it's going to MTV the Warhol 60s.

Superstar (Andy Warhol) is a great Documentry.
Basquiat and Downtown 81 are really great too.
