Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today

This aired on AXS, watched it for the 1st time last week. Always credited Grunge for Killing off Hair Metal & credited Nu metal for killing off Grunge.

Too bad Nu Metal was basically the end of the line for heavy music as a popular mainstream genre. It was by far the worst incarnation. I love the new Indie subgenres of Doom Metal, Drone Metal, Stoner Rock and Psychedelic Metal, but you'll never hear that on the radio.

my buddy stole the Nevermind album from a girl one night & I actually bought the Pearl Jam album 10 but that's as far as i go with Grunge. Nu metal was genre I was fully present for.

reply

Total opposite for me. I was a huge Grunge fan but Nu Metal just turned me right off. With Grunge, however, I was never crazy about Nirvana but I loved Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam. Best of all was Screaming Trees.

Louder than Love had to be one of the First albums I purchased that was only because of the Cover. I returned it & walmart refunded my purchase. later in life i bought a Alice in Chains Cassette for 50 cents (maybe dirt) at a pawnshop & loved it. Hype had some great performances from 7 year, the Gits & Hammerbox.

reply

I can't believe you didn't like Louder than Love! I like all of Soundgarden's catalog, but Louder was their peak, if you ask me. AIC was great too.

reply

I'll try again with it, was young & maybe wanted it to be more heavy with that cover. 2 songs in & loving it
