why didnt Esmeralda just sleep with frollo?

Sure hes an ugly evil creep but its not worth being burned to death! I'm no whore but I would have just done it!

I'm not from texas its just a name I came up with when I was a teen! ♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥★☆★☆★☆★☆

I don't think she should have actually slept with him - some people think keeping their dignity is more important than keeping their life, and I don't think it would have fit Esmeralda's character to sacrifice her principles. But she could have said yes, let him untie her, and then at least try escaping. The thing is, I'm sure she knew he'd continue to burn down the city and terrorize innocent people to find her, so she wouldn't want to put them through that. I think that's the main reason.

First of all, EWW! Second of all, the guy was clearly a sadist, and would probably done some pretty awful things to her if she did. Third of all, he didn't want her to just sleep with him, he wanted her to be 'his woman', basically making her his sex slave until he tires of her, then he'll kill her.

That's a good point. I mean, there are some things worse than death, and being a creepy old sadist's sex slave and probably getting beaten and maybe even eventually killed by him is probably one of them.

she has dignity and is intelligent enough to know that frollo would have sexually and physically abused her, and then kill her once he'd had enough.

Sad this has to be pointed out.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

Almost as sad as the fact that people like Frollo actually exist and situations that Esmerelda was in or would have been in had she accepted Frollo's offer actually happen in real life.

Once upon a time there was a magical place where it never rained. The end.

She hated Frollo and everything he stood for. As Esmeralda stated when Frollo refused to stop Quasimodo's public humiliation, Frollo spoke of justice, yet was cruel to the people who needed his help the most (i.e. the gypsies). Being a gypsy herself, she refused to give up her dignity to a cruel, evil man who persecuted her people and only wanted her for sex.

She didn't like him at all, so I can't imagine why she would even sleep with him
