It's definitely not the same Shadow. But in the trivia it says 6 animals of each breed shared each role so I doubt it, unless one of those six are the Chance and Sassy from the first one. But the Shadow from the first is definitely not in it, he was very old in the first one and the second was made three years later.
shareIt's not the same Chance, at least. The first one was played by an American Bulldog, while the dogs in this movie were said to be Staffies. They're subtly different in terms of body styles, but it's enough for most people to see that it's not the same dog.
As for the cat, I don't know. I'd also vote No with the golden retriever, or at least guess that he WASN'T one of the many dogs used to play the part of Shadow.
Oh? Said by whom? That's strange. And incorrect. Chance is still an American Bulldog in the sequel (though not portrayed by the same canine actors from the original.)

Chance was played by American Pitbull Terriers in the second movie.

shareNo, it was an American Bulldog named Rattler who played Chance in the first movie. American Bulldogs have more of a smushed in muzzle and APBT do not.

shareThe original dog that played Chance in the first film passed away. The Second film used 4 different dogs to play Chance.
shareAll the dogs were different ones, but the same breed and different voice for Shadow. And I don't know about sassy. Probably a different cat. To me she looked different.
